Known for its elaborate designs, the farm hasn’t disappointed this year, with visitors being treated to a Barbie-themed corn maze. The maze is a huge 10 acres, with two different options to choose from: a short, 20-minute path, or a longer section which can take up to an hour to roam through. A $27 weekend entry fee also includes access to the animal zoo, corn tunnel, slides and much more.

2. Southern Hill Farms

Coming in second place is Southern Hill Farms, situated just outside of Clermont, Florida. Surrounded on either side by fields of sunflowers (that are readily available to pick), the farm’s 5-acre corn maze is the perfect place to spend a sunny fall afternoon with the family.

Southern Hill is the second most Instagrammed corn maze location in the US, with 13,259 posts tagged with ‘#SouthernHillFarms.’ It also sees the second highest number of searches on Google, at 177,600 per year, as well as 355,800 hashtag views on TikTok.

3. Cornbelly’s

Given that corn is quite literally in the name, it’s no surprise that Utah’s Cornbelly’s has come in third on the list of most popular corn mazes. Cornbelly’s is the most popular corn maze on Instagram, with 14,330 hashtags, and is one of the most searched locations on Google, seeing 145,200 searches per year.

With two locations, the flagship site in Lehi and a newer site in Spanish Fork, there’s double the fun to be had at Cornbelly’s. The team has 26 years of corn maze experience, and this year’s themes include an Addams Family maze and a labyrinth dedicated to country music icon Reba.

4. Queens County Farm Museum

In fourth place is Queens County Farm Museum. Home to the only corn maze in New York City, this year’s 3-acre ‘Amazing Maize Maze’ is inspired by the 1954 Ford Tractor. The average entry fee for adults and children is $14, making it the most affordable corn maze to visit in the top five.

The farm is the second most TikTok’d location on our list, with 781,400 hashtag views, and it sees 43,200 searches on Google each year.

5. Cherry Crest Farm

Matching Cornberry’s for the number of Google searches each year, Pennsylvania’s Cherry Crest Farm has come in fifth place. Weekend October admission is a little bit on the pricey side ($30.95 if bought online), however this includes access to over 60 fun farm activities.

Located about 90 minutes from Philadelphia, the 5-acre maze has over 2.5 miles of paths to wander, with scenic bridges and plenty of clues along the way. With different difficulty levels to choose from, the maze is perfect for both kids and adults, and for an added challenge, why not try the Flashlight Maze and take on the labyrinth after dark?

Top tips for having the perfect day down at the patch

1. Dress for the weather

It will depend where you are in the country of course, but fall weather can be a little unpredictable at times. No one wants to spend a soggy day at the farm, so check the weather, wear the appropriate attire, and wrap up if it’s looking chilly. Also, make sure to wear comfy shoes – rubber boots or old sneakers work well, especially if you’re planning on wandering the pumpkin fields or running around a maze!

2. Come prepared

To avoid any heated family discussions on the day, have a think about what kind of pumpkins you’re after, and how many you’re looking for. And if you’re heading to a corn maze, check the layout before you go, as there might be a few different path options to choose from, depending on how challenging you want the experience to be.

3. Check the calendar for events

Lots of the pumpkin patches and corn mazes on our list offer tons of fun events and activities throughout fall. Make sure to check their calendars ahead of time to ensure you don’t miss out.

4. Skip the crowds

Most of the popular farms get very busy on weekends, especially as we get closer to Halloween. So, if you can, try and beat the crowds by doing a spot of pumpkin-picking on a weekday instead.

5. Get snappy

Pumpkin patches offer the perfect fall-inspired backdrop for some great family photos, so grab a camera and make sure to capture the moment!

6. Whip up some pumpkin-themed treats

Amidst all the fun of picking and carving, it’s easy to forget that pumpkin is actually a delicious treat too. There’s so many different baked goodies you can whip up with your leftovers, from pumpkin pies and pumpkin cupcakes, to pumpkin bread and even pumpkin cheesecake!

Lastly, it wouldn’t be fall without also enjoying some pumpkin spiced treats. Whether you prefer to sprinkle some in your pumpkin pie recipe or add it to your morning coffee to sweeten up your mornings, are you a fan of this increasingly popular flavor of fall?

Plus, for even more fall-themed fun, make sure to check out our brand new Strawberry Shortcake Halloween TV special, coming to Netflix on October 2nd.

Sources & Methodology

Strawberry Shortcake created a seedlist of 102 of the most popular US pumpkin patches, and 56 of the most popular US corn mazes, from various published lists. Each pumpkin patch or corn maze was ranked based on the following metrics, using the search term ‘#[insert pumpkin patch/corn maze name]:

  • Number of TikTok hashtag views

  • Number of Instagram hashtags

  • Average monthly Google search volume – Using Google Analytics Keyword Planner, this was based on solely US data. Yearly search volume was calculated by multiplying monthly volume by 12.

  • A weighted score was then applied to each metric to create a ranking.

  • Data correct as of 09/25/23.
